Only a few days before we leave, car is packed and loaded.
The only things left top go into the car is cold food, (2 fridges and one freezer) plus our clothes.
It is a pretty big trip for us. We have previously done plenty of trips to the VIC High Country for up to a week but 4 weeks is new territory for us.
As far as food goes there will be plenty of chicken, steak and mince, these of course will all be vacuum sealed and frozen and there will be plenty of frozen veggies. We also have a frozen chicken and leg of lamb. Night time feed will be this stuff along with plenty of rice and pasta. Breakfast will consist of plenty of bacon and eggs and pancakes. Lunch we will wing it. Any time we see a shop we will top things up. We also have plenty of drinks and of course tea and coffee. Going hungry on this trip will be the least of our problems.
The route we are taking from Sydney to the tropics is….
Tamworth to Narrabri, Moree, with the first night stay somewhere around Mungindi.
Day 2, from Mungindi to Emerald via St George along the Carnarvon Hwy.
Day 3, From Emerald to Inisfail via the Gregory Hwy.
Day 4, A short trip to Cairns to top up and camp at Mossman for the night.
Day 5, we will attempt the Creb Track, hopefully staying the night at Bloomfield.
Day 6, Heading to Archer River Roadhouse.
Day 7, Heading to Bramwell Junction Roadhouse.
Day 8, Old Tele Track and camp somewhere along the track.
Day 9, We will be t the Tip, we want to do the 5 beaches run and perhaps get back to Captain Billy Landing but seems awfully ambitious tyo so so I suspect this is where the plan goes out the window if it hasn’t already.
